Week 68 & 69 - November 18-25th, 2019 (Santa Teresita, Philippines)

Zone Conference in Laoag
On the bus home from Laoag -
It's typhoon season!
Hello everyone, so good to be writing to you all again! I'm so glad that I've got a little time to write this week in between trips to Laoag and typhoons sweeping through Cagayan, and all is well. We have had a great if not busy couple weeks immersed in an endless stream of activities and things that need to get done. We had a few amazing Sundays these past couple weeks, with the confirmation of four new members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints last Sunday and then this more recent Sunday a bunch of awesome people who are currently experiencing the change that comes through living the Gospel, especially this one family who are just amazing and are seeing so many miracles happen in their lives- Brother Jun, who is the father, just found a new job and they are all having such a wonderful time learning and following the commandments of God to bring stability and joy to the family unit and to each individual life. We went to Laoag this last week to attend a leadership meeting which was quite good, the whole mission is just so amazing right now- currently breaking several records in mission history for the amount of progress these areas are seeing in new people finding new light in their lives, and the Lord is just pouring out His Spirit here in the Philippines Laoag Mission right now, we are so grateful to be here at this special time. The Christmas season is coming to an official open (this country has been celebrating it since September), and we are so excited for the new video that the Church just put out about the nativity- it's so amazing and really puts to an awesome picture the birth of the Son of God, the coming of He who would take upon Him the sins of all the world, in such a humble and quiet manner. What a wonderful celebration. Very excited as it comes upon us. We are going up to Laoag yet again this upcoming Tuesday for a day, and will be quite busy the rest of this week with a baptism this Saturday and lots of others waiting to be found- it's all going great here in Santa Te. Hopefully, we can avoid typhoons for these next couple weeks, lots of rice got spoiled this last week from the flooding and heavy rains. Nonetheless, life continues and more importantly this work will roll forth with no hand to stop it- this is the work of God, our Heavenly Father, and He will see it through to the end, I know that this is His Plan and am so grateful to be able to tell people about it every day. I love you all and hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, see you real soon!

Love,
Elder Griffitts
